Broken, Not Defeated

But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Paint ‘Taint Paint

OMG! There is paint and then there is p’aint.

When you purchase a can of paint, pre-mixed from the local hardware store you are beyond committed! Accompanying the can are an unusually large brush, stirring stick, some product called spackling , an instrument with which to apply that, large heavy “cups” to pour your p’aint into and a’lass but necessary a huge folding ladder, along with plastic for body and space defense.

The moment you leave  the hardware store, you are committed! I did this two weeks ago to paint a portion of my kitchen and I have been rowing against the current ever since!

Okay, the p’aint is on the walls. I am stunned, exhausted and completely disoriented!

Guess what?! My next project is to convert an upstairs room into an art studio…if I have to apply p’aint to create a space for painting, OMG!!!

Paint ‘Taint just Paint!

Fill your Hearts

“The peace and wisdom of God fill your hearts, that nothing may rule in you but the life which stands in the Lord God” (George Fox, 1624–1691).

Seek the Face of God

Do not see the face of man until you have seen the face of God. Before you enter on the day with its temptations, look up into His face and hide His Word in your heart. …F B Meyer

Seriously Unique Folks

Beyond the “Herd” is where writers, artists and musicians generally live.

Those of you who dwell in that world will get my drift and understand the image of “A Hole to another Universe” completely.

It is when I enter that comfortable, scary, amazingly inspirational black hole that my imagination pops and sizzles.

My family and those who know me best cringe with misunderstanding as I enter.

Mistrust and fear of the “Hole” comes from a normal state of being that keeps the world within their controlled safety.

As for myself, give me Whole disquitness of the Hole’s wonder.

Friday Fellowship

The first service that one owes to others in the fellowship consists of listening to them. Just as love of God begins with listening to his word, so the beginning of love for our brothers and sisters is learning to listen to them. —Life Together  Dietrich Bonhoeffer
